Canton-Galva?The Eagles entered the Moundridge Class 2A sub-state as the No. 8 seed and lost a 72-16 quarterfinal contest to No. 1 Moundridge.

Moundridge (20-3) went on to earn the championship with wins over Peabody-Burns and Berean Academy.

The Eagles ended the season with a 2-19 record.

Centre?The Cougars earned a berth in the Class 1A-Division I state tournament this Saturday with a 60-37 win over Langdon-Fairfield in the championship game of their sub-state tournament at Burrton.

The Cougars came in to the sub-state tournament as the No. 2 seed. After a first-round bye, the Cougars defeated Pretty Prairie, 44-33, Thursday.

Shelby Makovec led the Cougar attack with 13 points. Beka Basore added 10.

The Cougars then defeated Langdon-Fairfield. Makovec again led the Cougars with a game-high 21 points. Cacey Simons added 16 for Centre.

Centre (17-6) is seeded sixth at state, which will be at White Auditorium in Emporia. The Cougars opens play at 4:45 Wednesday with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 3 St. John-Hudson (21-2).

With a win, Centre would face either No. 2 Hoxie (23-0) or No. 7 South Haven (16-7) Friday at 3 p.m.

The other side of the bracket features No. 1 Olpe (23-0) battling No. 8 Hanover (14-7) at 6:30 p.m. and No. 4 Kensington-Thunder Ridge (18-4) taking on No. 5 Bucklin (17-5) at 8:15 p.m.

Goessel?The Bluebirds entered the Burrton sub-state as the No. 4 seed and defeated No. 5 Burrton 47-23 Wednesday. Page Hiebert led the Goessel attack with 12 points.

Goessel then dropped a 48-44 contest to No. 1 Langdon-Fairfield Thursday. Jessica Harvey led the Bluebird attack with 15 points, followed by Johanna Hoffman with 12.

Goessel ended the season with a 10-12 record.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors came in to the Mound?ridge Class 2A sub-state tournament as the No. 5 seed. They edged No. 4 Herington, 47-46, in overtime Thursday before falling to eventual champion No. 1 Moundridge Friday in the semifinal round, 49-16.

The Warriors conclude the season with a 10-12 record.

BOYS

The Eagles wrapped up the season with a 1-20 record.

Centre?After a first-round bye at the Burrton Class 1A-Division I sub-state tournament, the No. 2 Cougars dropped Friday?s semifinal game to No. 3 Langdon-Fairfield, 60-50.

The Cougars ended the season with a 12-10 record.

Goessel?The No. 4 Bluebirds opened the Burrton Class 1A-Division I sub-state with a 57-48 loss to No. 5 Burrton.

The Bluebirds ended the season with a 9-12 record.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors came in to the Moundridge Class 2A sub-state as the No. 5 seed and earned a 45-42 quarterfinal victory over No. 4 Oxford Wednesday.

Christian Gard and Seth Topham each scored nine points to lead the Warriors.

Peabody-Burns then earned a decisive, 62-48, victory over No. 1 Burden-Central Friday to advance to the title game.
