Centre??The Cougars (9-4) opened the Cougar Classic with a 58-15 victory over Wakefield Tuesday.

The Cougars then defeated Elyria Christian Friday, 42-30, to face Hope in a championship contest Saturday that went into four overtimes. Centre ended on the short side of a 49-47 score.

The Cougars were scheduled to host Flint Hills Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m. before traveling to Wakefield Friday at 6.

Goessel??The Bluebirds (5-5) dropped Friday?s game at Mound?ridge, 51-29. Jessica Har?vey led Goessel with 11 points.

The Bluebirds were scheduled to compete in the Eli J. Walter Invitational at Berean, opening against Bluestem Monday night, with additional games Thursday and Saturday.

Peabody-Burns??The Warriors (7-6) dropped a close first-round Cougar Classic contest to Elyria Christian, 23-20, Tuesday. The Warriors defeated Wakefield in the semifinal round Friday, 42-16, to face Solomon Saturday for fifth place. The Warriors lost that one, 52-45.

The Warriors are scheduled to compete at Elyria Christian Tuesday.


Canton-Galva??The Eagles (2-11) dropped their opening home tournament contest against Bennington, 62-30, Monday.

The Eagles then lost 49-28 to Sedgwick Thursday before recording a 53-43 victory over St. John?s Military Friday.

The Eagles will travel to Marion next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Centre??The Cougars (7-6) dropped their first-round Cougar Classic contest Tuesday to Peabody-Burns, 59-51.

The Cougars faced Wakefield Friday in the semifinal round, recording a 53-35 victory, then defeated Hope for fifth place Saturday, 45-31.

The Cougars are scheduled to play at Wakefield Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Goessel??The Bluebirds (7-5) dropped Monday?s first-round Burrton Invitational contest to Berean Academy, 37-34. Ben Wiens led the Bluebird attack with seven points.

Goessel then faced Burrton Thursday, posting a 56-50 victory.

Shane Goerzen led the attack with 12 points, followed by Trey Schmidt with 11.

The Bluebirds took to the court Saturday against Central Christian to play for fifth place but lost, 60-40.

Goessel will travel to Moundridge Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Peabody-Burns??The Warriors (7-6) defeated Centre 59-51 in the opening round of the Cougar Classic. Three Warriors scored a game-high 11 points: Christian Gard, Braxton Kyle and Austin Savage. Seth Topham contributed 10 points for Peabody-Burns.

The Warriors faced White City Friday in the semifinal round and fell, 51-41.

Peabody-Burns faced Solo?mon Saturday in the third-place game, but came up short, 61-58.

The Warriors are scheduled to travel to Elyria Christian Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
