BASEBALL

Canton-Galva—The Eagles traveled to Marion Friday for a doubleheader. For more on those games, see elsewhere in sports.

Canton-Galva was scheduled to host Remington Monday and Inman Tuesday then will play at Lincoln Thursday.

TRACK AND FIELD

Canton-Galva—The Eagles competed at the Moundridge Invitational Tuesday.

Maddie Snow was the girls’ highest finisher, placing second in the 400 (1:02.98). She was sixth in the 200 (27.69).

Katie Fiedler placed third in all three of her events: the 100 (12.98), the 200 (27.12) and the 400 (1:04.53).

Braylee Doughman finished third in the discus (85-4).

Tia Moddelmog was fourth in the pole vault (7-6) and fifth in the triple jump (32-4), the high jump (4-6) and the 400 (1:05.75).

Meanwhile, Dylan Wood paced the boys with a second-place finish in the 400 (53.67).

The Eagles will compete at the Wheat State League meet at Goessel Thursday.

Centre—The Cougars competed at Herington’s Steve Herrmann Invitational Thursday.

Xavier Espinoza was the boys’ highest finisher. He won the 400 (54.3 seconds), finished second in the 100 (11.3) and was fifth in the long jump (18-83⁄4).

Max Svoboda was fourth in the 200 (24.7), Braxton Smith fifth in the javelin (134-1) and Cody Svoboda sixth in the javelin (131).

As a team, the boys finished sixth of 11 with 27 points. Solomon won with 1311⁄2.

Meanwhile, Kate Basore led the girls with a second-place finish in the javelin (130-2).

As a team, the girls finished eighth of 11 with eight points. Berean Academy won with 153.

The Cougars will compete at the Wheat State League meet at Goessel Thursday.
