Canton-Galva—The Eagles lost two to Goessel Tuesday. The girls lost, 38-35. The boys lost, 39-33, having led, 20-19 at halftime.

The Eagles lost two to Solomon Friday. The girls lost, 47-45, while the boys lost, 50-31.

The boys will host an invitational tournament this week. The Eagles were scheduled to play Wichita Classical Tuesday and will face Sedgwick Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The tournament will conclude Friday. Additional teams in the field include St. John’s Military, Wichita Warriors and Ell-Saline.

Centre—The Cougars swept Little River Tuesday.

The girls won, 54-36, despite trailing, 27-19 at halftime. A 17-point third-quarter effort gave Centre the lead by the end of it, 36-32.

Kelsey Hett scored six of her team-high 16 points in that period. Kate Basore joined her in double-digit scoring with 15 points.

The boys won, 55-50.

The Cougars split games with Rural Vista Friday.

The girls lost, 51-35. The boys won, 47-41.

Centre will host the Cougar Classic tournament this week. The second-seeded girls were scheduled to face No. 7 Wakefield Tuesday, while the first-seeded boys were to face No. 8 Herington. The tournament will continue Friday and conclude Saturday. Additional teams in the field are: Marion, Rural Vista, Elyria Christian, Solomon and Peabody-Burns.

Goessel—The Bluebirds swept Canton-Galva Tuesday. The girls won, 38-35. The boys won, 39-33, outscoring the Eagles, 20-13 in the second half.

Dylan Lindeman led the scoring effort with 17 points. Rhett Makovec had a double-double performance with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bluebirds split two with Elyria Christian Friday.

The girls won, 39-16, while the boys lost, 57-28.

The boys will compete in the Burrton Invitational this week. They were scheduled to play Central Christian Tuesday. Goessel will play again Thursday and conclude the tournament Saturday. Additional teams in the field are: Berean Academy, Pretty Prairie, Inman, Little River, Burrton and Fairfield.

The girls will play Moundridge Friday.

Peabody-Burns—The Warriors split two games at Herington Tuesday.

The girls lost, 31-23. Tori Pickens scored a team-high 10 points.

The boys picked up their first win of the season, defeating Herington, 52-43.

Austin Reynolds led the effort with 17 points. Chance Elliott scored 12.

Peabody-Burns’ game with Wakefield was postponed until Monday, Feb. 13 because of weather.

The Warriors will compete at Centre’s Cougar Classic this week.

The eighth-seeded girls were scheduled to face No. 1 Marion Tuesday. The seventh-seeded boys were to face No. 2 Rural Vista.

Additional teams in the field are: Centre, Herington, Elyria Christian, Solomon and Wakefield.
