Area Golf Roundup (April 28, 2010)

Shooting a score of 358 as a team, Marion golf finished third April 19 at the Council Grove Invitational.

Holton won the 10-team tournament with a score of 325. Rounding out the top five was Council Grove (346), Lyndon (363) and Osage City (367)

Linsday Hett was the top finisher for the Warriors shooting an 86 in 18 holes for a ninth place finish.

Finishing 12th was Marion?s Landon Leiker with an 87.

Adam Molleker made three top 20 scorers for Marion. He finished 19th shooting a 92.

Marion was scheduled to travel to Salina Elks Golf Course for the Bennington Invitational Tuesday.

The Warriors will finish the week at Sacred Heart Friday


Continuing a season streak of finishing as a team in the top three of tournaments, Centre placed second out of 10 teams at the Remington Invitational in Newton Thursday.

Three Cougars finished in the top 10. Adam Matz was fourth with an 82. Jacob Jennings placed seventh with an 85 and Heath Jill finished 10th with an 89.

Centre was scheduled to compete at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Junction City Tuesday.


Competing against 4 and 3A competition, the Goessel golf team placed sixth at the Bluestem invitational at Prairie Trails Golf Course in El Dorado April 19.

The Bluebirds put together their best effort of the season shooting 349 as a team.

Finishing in the top 20 was Hayden Goerzen placing 12th with an 83 and Tyler Schmidt finishing 20th with an 86.
