Centre vs. Goessel

?The Bluebirds unleashed a 50-0 drubbing of the Cougars Friday night at Centre.

?We came out and played hard, but had too many penalties and too many big plays,? Centre coach Kelly Steiner said. ?Goessel returned a lot of starters and is a very good team.?

Goessel scored 13 points in the first quarter and 31 in the second, and the Bluebird defense only allowed Centre one first down. Craig Banman scored three rushing touchdowns, ran for one conversion and kicked two extra points. Austin Unruh was four of four passing with touchdown passes to Weston Hiebert and Travis Fensky.

Goessel will be at home the next three Fridays, facing White City, Fairfield and Claflin. Centre plays at Canton-Galva Friday.


?The Eagles defeated Hope 30-22 in their 8-man debut.

Peabody-Burns?Ell Saline outscored the Warriors 48-6. Additional information was not received ahead of the print deadline. The Warriors host Inman Friday night in Peabody.
