Touchdown by Brunner made it 28-8 early in the third period.

Burrton then scored three straight touchdowns to close out the third quarter and open the fourth. Two failed 2-point conversions and a successful one tied the game at 28-28 with 4:59 to go.

Then the floodgates opened. Brunner found Krause for a 17-yard score at 2:15 and Burrton countered at 1:38. Centre?s conversion misfired, but Burrton?s rang true, making it 36-34 with just over a minute to go.

Burrton returned an interception for a touchdown with 1:02 left, taking a 42-34 lead. But Burrton failed on the conversion and left the door open for Centre to tie.

Krause drilled a 33-yard pass to freshman Brian Burhoop, who scored Centre?s 40th point with 8 seconds left. On the 2-point try, the run for the equalizer came up short and Burrton prevailed .
