Goessel?The Bluebirds crushed Fairfield 54-8, but Friday?s game with looked to be a battle of defenses for the first five minutes. Goessel had the opening possession and turned the ball over to Fairfield on fourth down.

Two plays later, the Fairfield quarterback picked up a high snap and tossed the ball downfield for a touchdown.

Goessel then scored 54 straight points, as the defense stiffened and a mixture of passing and running plays helped the Bluebirds to their third lopsided win of the season.

Canton-Galva?The Eagles were defeated 36-0 by Pretty Prairie. Trailing 14-0 at half, CGHS allowed 16 points in the third quarter and six in the fourth.

Pretty Prairie went up 8-0 on 2-point conversion run by Blew after Blew hammered in a 1-yard carry.

Blew scored again to start the third quarter, and again in the fourth.

Williams, for the Eagles, caught three passes for 100 yards and threw a 7-yard strike to Bryant Baldwin. Williams also rushed seven times for four yards.

Baldwin carried 13 times for 41 rushing yards and completed three of eight passes for 100 passing yards for Canton-Galva.

For Pretty Prairie, Blew ran for 143 yards on 25 carries and Pitman ran for 115 on 12 carries, including a 40-yard burst in the second quarter and a 19-yarder in the third.

Fairfield is next up for the Eagles.

Centre?The Cougars were defeated 60-14 by Hope. The Cougars host Wakefield this week.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors were defeated 28-26 by Remington. Peabody-Burns visits Hutch Trinity this week.
