The home team opened the scoring in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ted Regehr to Brett Williams. PBHS countered with a 2-yard scoring pass from Nathan Bishop to Brandon Pickens.
The Warriors took control with two touchdowns in the third quarter?a 22-yard run by Trevor Hamm and a nine-yard run by Pickens. The Eagles capped the scoring with a safety in the final quarter.
Canton-Galva (0-3) plays Friday at Bennington while Peabody-Burns (3-0) is host to Sedgwick.
Centre
The Cougars dropped a 40-18 decision Friday to White City, falling to 0-3 for the season.
?Aaron Bowman and Tanner Brunner had good games on defense,? coach Kelly Steiner said. ?But we got beat deep on a couple passes.?
Centre fumbled 10 times and lost three of them. White City also intercepted two passes.
But even with the turnover troubles, the Cougars hung tough through two quarters, trailing 20-12 at halftime and pulling within 20-18 at the 6:51 mark of the third quarter on a 25-yard run by Brandon Albrecht.
But White City scored three straight touchdowns through the air to seal the game.
Centre hosts Hope on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
Goessel
The Bluebirds drubbed Wichita-Trinity on Friday, 46-0, to improve to 3-0.
Dustin Peterson scored the game?s first touchdown on a six-yard run. Kendall Voth caught the 2-point conversion pass from Austin Unruh to establish at 8-0 the lead that Goessel would not relinquish.
Craig Banman scored the final touchdown in the third quarter, invoking the mercy rule with a 55-yard reception from Austin Unruh.
In between, the Bluebird defense forced five fumbles and caught an interception en route to holding Trinity to 70 yards of offense.
?Our defense played well tonight,? coach Justin Coup said. ?Our special teams contained their back and gave us great field position.?
Goessel?s offense totaled 316 yards including 180 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Banman accounted for three touchdowns?two by pass, one by run?and Travis Fensky scored on a 28-yard catch to go with 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Goessel plays at Flint Hills on Friday night.
