Canton-Galva?The Eagles (3-6) lost their final district game to Lincoln (4-5) Thursday, 80-30, to end their season.

Centre?The Cougars (5-4) fell in Thursday?s district matchup, 54-8, to Madison/Hamilton (8-1).

CHS will not advance to the playoffs, so Thursday?s game ended their season.

Goessel?The Bluebirds (6-3) won Thursday?s district game with Hope, 42-28, to advance to the 8-Man Div. II?playoffs.

GHS got things rolling with a 12-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion scramble from Shane Goerzen. Zach Showalter snagged a 15-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trey Schmidt, who made the PAT run, to end the first period with a 16-6 lead.

The Bluebirds went on to outscore Hope, 26-22, in the remaining quarters.

Schmidt led the Bluebirds in rushing with 105 yards on 20 carries, followed by Goerzen (13-75-1). Schmidt completed eight passes for 126 yards and four touchdowns. Nic Buller had five catches for 103 yards and three scores, followed by Showalter with two receptions for 18 yards and one score.

GHS was scheduled to travel to Baileyville (9-0) Tuesday to begin playoff competition, with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors (6-3) defeated Lebo at home Thursday, 62-48, to conclude district play and advance to the 8-Man Div. I?playoffs.

PBHS took a quick 16-6 lead after the first quarter and survived a 20-point final period by Lebo to nail down the win.

Quarterback Hunter Pickens completed made 16 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns.

He also led the Warriors in rushing with 150 yards on 24 carries for two touchdowns. Tommy Morris picked up 66 yards and a touchdown on three carries, Christian Gard added 46 yards and a score on five attempts, and Braxton Kyle added 37 yards and two scores on six carries.

Seth Topham led receivers with 11 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Kyle caught two passes for 30 yards and two scores and Morris added 11 yards and a score with one catch.

Three Warriors finished with double-digits tackles: Morris 12, Lucas Larsen 11 and Braxton Kyle 10. tackles, Morris nabbed two interceptions for 11 yards.

Jayden Miller had 2.5 sacks, with Keifer Larsen adding two sacks and a fumble recovery. Clayton Philpott also recovered a fumble.

PBHS is slated to play at Rock Hills (8-1) Tuesday to begin playoff competition.
