Goessel?Goessel?s Brittny Czarnow?sky qualified for the Class 1A state cross country race Satur?day afternoon with a fifth-place finish at Wichita.
Czarnowsky, Goessel?s only entry, covered the 4-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 24 seconds, finishing 56 seconds behind the winner.
The Goessel boys, meanwhile, placed sixth out of six teams.
Competing for Goessel on the 5-k course were Heath Goertzen (20th, 20:07), Ben Wiens (21st 20:07), Nathan Czarnowsky (24th, 20:32), Grant Flaming (25th, 20:53), Stephan Goertzen (26th, 20:59), Dan Smucker (32nd, 21:42) and Jake Herrel (34th, 21:42).
