Centre

The Centre Cougars are the last Eisenhower League Tournament Champions.

The Cougars defeated Wakefield 72-57 Saturday to take home the tournament title.

Centre went 1-1 in pool play beating White City 54-24 on Tuesday and losing to Elyria-Christian 63-62 on Friday.

Trevor Troutt averaged 23 points, 11.6 rebounds per game in the tournament.

The tournament championship is the first for Centre since 1995.

The Centre girls finished second in the Eisenhower League Tournament losing in the championship game to host team Solomon 57-49.

The Cougar girls started pool play on Monday with a 47-44 overtime loss to Elyria-Christian.

Center bounced back on Tuesday, beating Wakefield 39-38.

Last week?s Eisenhower League Tournament will be the last. Established in 1972, The Eisenhower League is in its final season.

Centre has been a member of the Eisenhower League since 1988.

Peabody-Burns

Peabody returned home Saturday with a first place finish at the Burrton Invitational Tournament.

The Warriors beat Berean Academy 47-41 in the championship game on Saturday.

Thursday, Peabody Burns beat Pretty Praire 62-59 to reach the championship game.

The Warriors opened the week with 61-31 dousing of Hutchinson Central Christian.

Jacob Simmonds was named tournament MVP averaging 15 points, 9.6 rebounds per game. Aaron Topham and Simonds were named to the all-tournament team. Topham averaged 15.3 points per game.

Peobody-Burn?s girls travel to Elbng this week for the Bearean Academy Tournament.

The Warrior bys will return to acion Feb. 2 against Sedgwick

Canton-Galva

The Eages hosted the Canton-Galva Invitational last week. The Eagles dropped all three contests finishing in eighth place.

Tuesday Canton-Galva lost to Sedgwick 53-14. On Thursday the Eagles fell to Wichita Home School 63-58. Canton Galva ended the week with a 53-46 loss to Ell-Saline.

The Eagles have the week off and resume action on Feb. 2 against Remington.

Goessel

Finishing with a 1-2 record at the Burrton Invitational, Goessel fell in the third place game to Pretty Prarie 57-53.

Goessel beat Burrton in the first round 59-50 and fell to Berean Academy 64-31 in the semifinal round.

Goessel is 6-6 on the season. The Bluebirds play again Friday at Little River.
