Area Basketball Roundup (Feb. 17, 2010)

Peabody-Burns at Canton-Galva Tuesday highlighted last week?s of area action. In the first game of the night, the PBHS girls edged the Eagles 25-23 in a defensive struggle.

The PBHS boys completed the sweep with a 64-31 win. It was the Warriors? first of two wins last week. Peabody-Burns hosted Inman Friday; the girls lost 45-23 while the boys won 44-41.

Canton-Galva finished the week 0-4 as the boys and girls both lost at Sedgwick on Friday. The girls lost 60-30, the boys by a 62-40 score.

Peabody-Burns travels to Hutchinson Trinity on Tues?day and celebrates homecoming Friday against Ell-Saline. Canton-Galva hosts Goessel Friday.

Goessel basketball teams also finished the week winless. The girls fell 48-44 to Mound?ridge and 44-43 to Remington Friday.

The Bluebird boys lost 66-56 to Moundridge and 60-44 to the Broncos.

The Bluebirds travel to Ell-Saline Tuesday, and are at Canton-Galva Friday.

Centre played a non-league game Tuesday at Madison. The Cougars downed the Bulldogs 50-43. The girls lost 65-35.

Centre was swept Friday by Eisenhower :eague opponent Solomon. The boys fell 69-64, the girls 58-43.

The Cougars host Wakefield Tuesday night for parents? night. Centre ends its regular season Friday at Chase County.

Class 1A regional tournaments begin Feb. 22-27; all classes begin sub-state play March 4-6.
