All-HOA honors announced

Ten Marion County basketball athletes from Marion and Canton-Galva have received recognition from Heart of America league coaches.

Marion?For the 16-6 Warrior girls, Kourtney Hansen was Marion?s sole first-team selection. She turned in per-game averages of 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds during her sophomore campaign. She recorded 102 steals and 100 assists.

Three Warriors received honorable mention: seniors Kirsten Hansen, Erika Hess and Bailey Robson.

The elder Hansen averaged 7.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game this season. She tallied 85 steals and 68 assists. She scored 390 points over her four-year career at Marion.

Hess turned in per-game averages of 7.5 points and 3.9 rebounds this season. She had 42 steals. In her career at Marion, Hess scored 283 points.

Robson turned in per-game averages of 7.9 points and 3.5 rebounds this season. She had 45 steals. Throughout her career, Robson scored 384 points.

For the 9-12 Warrior boys, junior Mason Pedersen and sophomore Jack Schneider received honorable mention.

Canton-Galva?Senior Cassidy Enns represents the 12-10 Eagle girls on the all-league first team.

Junior Kelli Nightingale received honorable mention.

Meanwhile, representing the 11-11 Eagle boys on the first team is senior Travis Unruh.

Senior Zach Snow received honorable mention.
