Thiessen wins Hillsboro golf title

Anthony Thiessen claimed the Hillsboro Golf Association?s men?s club championship Aug. 6-7 at the municipal golf course.

Thiessen shot a 73 and 72 for a 145 total and a one-stroke win over Brock Nieman, who shot a 73 both days for a 146.

The two-day tournament drew more than 40 participants.

Following are the top two performers in each flight.

First flight: John Knaak Jr. 76/77 153; Mike Unruh 74/81 155.

Second flight: Don Dahl 80/85 165; Chad Nowak 86/85 171.

Third flight: Charlie Unruh 79/92 171; Mark King 90/89 179.

Handicap champion: Max Terman 80/76 156 gross total, 131.4 net; Russ Cain, 75/76 151 gross total, 132.0 net.
