Roberts wins Hillsboro golf tournament

Jim Roberts won the Hillsboro Men?s Senior Golf Tournament Wednesday, Sept. 2, with 60 golfers participating.

Roberts, playing in the 55-59 age division, shot a 75. He was followed in his age group by Stan Utting and Craig Jones, who each shot 78.

The results of the other flights were: Age 50-54, first Rod Erickson 79, second Mark Bennett 80 and third Bob Wagner 80; Age 60-64, first Max Terman 82, second Ed Thiessen 82 and third Richard Knaak 83; Age 65-69, first Clint Siebel 79, second Mike Huntley 85 and third Bill Cool 89; Age 70-74, first Andy Friesen 79, second Dick Jorgansen 81 and third Carl Long 85. Age 80+, first Dale Lambert 77, second Clay Hedrick 78 and third Ken Squires 82.

Several volunteers helped make the tournament and the steak dinner that followed a success. Those included Jane Long, Brenda Kimberly, Vicki Manuel, Susan Schultz, Meredith Ryan and Pat Bartel.
