The Peabody Recreation Commission, in partnership with Peabody Senior Babe Ruth, will be hosting the 13-15-year-old Babe Ruth State Tournament of Champions July 14-17 at Peabody City Park.
The field of eight teams will include a host team from the Cottonwood Valley League.
Activities begin July 13 with team check-in starting at 1 p.m., followed by a picnic and then a skills competition at 7 p.m. A coach’s scrimmage will begin at 8 p.m. with fireworks to follow at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, or immediately following Game 3. Ceremonies include presentation of certificates for players and coaches, various entertainment and a color guard from local youth organizations.
Admission for the tournament will be $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under. Children age 6 and under get in free.
