Pair wins tourney title

Shelley Dunham and Jenny Gihring combined for a one-over-par 36 to win the Hillsboro Ladies Golf Invitational Tournament June 21.

In a scorecard playoff for second place and third place, the team of Vivian Talbott and Teri Wray prevailed over Shirley Meysenburg and Kay Judson. Both teams shot a 38.

In the second flight, Judy Klein and Jane Long of Hillsboro took first with a 42, Rita Brennan and Raye Dirks of Hillsboro followed with a 43 and third place went to Julie Kincaid and Kathy Stuhlsatz with a 43.

In the third flight, Ethelyn Branum and Mary Ann Matthews won with a 45, second went to Opal Whitehair and Dorothy Veach at 52, and Brenda Kimberly and Karlene Lovelady took third after a scorecard playoff at 52.

Linda Davis received the award for ?closest to the pin? on Hole 1, Darlene Bartel won for longest drive on Hole 5, Lovelady won for having her tee shot closest to the pin on Hole 6, Kathy Vogts won for straightest drive on Hole 8 and Branum won for the longest holed putt on Hole 9 with a distance of over 23 feet.
