McPherson man wins annual Pine Edge putting tournament

Pine Edge WinnersDakota Cavanaugh, McPher­son, sank a 20-foot putt to become this year’s champion at the July 9 putting tournament at Pine Edge Golf Course near Goessel. Eleven contestants sank a 10-foot putt and received prizes. Following the putting tournament, 15 teams participated in an 18-hole, two-person scramble. A purse of $560 was distributed among the top seven teams. The winning team of Chet Roberts and Leroy Koehn shot a 52, 8 under par. Clyde Goering and Anthony Jenkins placed second; Alex Richard and Avery Anderson third; Don Kings­ley and Riley Kingsley fourth; Dale Dick and Gregg Dick fifth; Delbert Peters and Karl Bru­bacher sixth; and Scottie Landers and Kevin Landers seventh.
