McPherson man top Pine Edge putter

Mike Cavanaugh, McPher?son, sank a 20-foot putt to win the Pine Edge Golf Course fifth annual Putting Tournament June 26 near Goessel.

Second place went to Kent Campbell, third to J.C. Saunders, fourth to Gerald Jost and fifth to Wayne Neufeld.

The top seven putters competed for a Zeon Electric Mower donated by Hustler Turf Equipment, but none were able to sink the required 10-, 20- and 30-foot putts.

Following the putting tournament, Zach Frey and Linda Frey won a two-person scramble. Second place went to Clyde Goering and Anthony Jenkins, third to Chet Roberts and Richard Drake and fourth to J.C. Saunders and Kent Campbell.

Linda Frey won Longest Putt and Craig Lofton won Closest to the Pin.
