Remaining undefeated for the season, the Marion Swim Team Blue placed first at the Hesston Quad Saturday.
Marion blue outscored the Peabody Super Swimmers 643.5 to 433.5. The Hesston Wahoos swam to a third-place finish (246.5) and the Marion Swim Team Red was fourth (191.5).
Marion Blue won 48 gold medals (34 individual, 14 relay) on its way to its first-place finish. Peabody won 18 (13 individual, five relay).
Leading the way with four individual medals per were Marion?s 13-year-old Kaelyn Thierolf, 11-year olds Garrett Alleven and Mason Pederson, and eight-year old Luke Lanning.
Swimming in a the boys? 9-10 year old age class, Lanning won gold in the 100-yard individual medley, the 25-yard breast stroke, 100 yard freestyle, and the 25-yard fly.
Also swimming in an older age class, Garrett Alleven won the boys? 13-14 year old, 100-yard individual medley, 100 yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard fly.
Mason Pederson won the 100-yard individual medley, 100 yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard back stroke in the boys? 11-12 year old age class.
The top finisher for the girls was Kaelyn Thierolf. Competing in the 13-14 year old age group, she won the 100-yard individual medley, 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and the 50-yard fly.
Peabody was led by 17-year old Storm Pickens with three first-place finishes.
Competing in the boys? 15-18 age class, Pickens won the 100-yard individual medley, 50-yard and 50-yard breaststroke.
