The 2009 Cottonwood Valley 9-year-old all-stars team defeated Lyons in consecutive games to earn the opportunity to represent the area in the state tournament to be held this weekend at Lakin. Their competition will include teams from Paola, Columbus, Haysville, Wellington, Fort Scott, Lakin and Cimmaron River.
