Klenda captures title at 41st derby

?We feel like attendance for the demo derby was the same if not more than last year,? said fair manager Kelli Savage. ?We had a very good turnout.?

Savage added that the cooler weather probably played a role in the increased attendance.

Results of the demo derby follow below.

Winners of the first heat were: Bill Foley, Russell Klenda and Steven Hart.

Kent Boesker, Todd Redger and Darcy Unrau were heat two winners.

Winners of the consolation heat were: Brandon Holm, Mitchell Neuwirth and Thayne Meier.

In the end, Russell Klenda took first place in the final heat, followed by Steven Hart (second), Bill Foley (third), Todd Redger (fourth) and Brandon Holm (fifth).

The derby also included a Figure-8 race, won by Sara Raugust. Mike Brandt came in second, and Dean Suderman finished third.

Junior Figure-8 winners were: Zach Anderson in first place, Dustin Plenert (second) and Jace Hett (third).

In the Compact Car heat, David Smith took first place, followed by Amanda Foley (second), Bill Foley (third) and Brian Thiessen (fourth).

Todd Redger won the Mad Dog Award, while Dustin Plenert took home the Best of Paint Trophy.
