The Kansas Elite fast-pitch softball team won the 16U Sumner County Sizzler in Wellington June 6-7.
The team went 2-2 in pool play Saturday, and won the championship in single-elimination bracket play Sunday.
The team includes Hillsboro players Sammy Koons and Stephanie Sanders. Marion players are Shelby Percell and Alex Cain. The team is coached by Rod Koons, Stacey Sanders, Russ Cain and Doug Hatfield.
The team travels to Kansas City next weekend to play in a college showcase tournament.
