Jesse Hamm wins second straight MCF demolition derby

For the second straight year, Hillsboro?s Jesse Hamm is the Marion County Fair full-size automobile demolition derby champion.

Dean Suderman won the Figure 8 race, and Scott Alcorn was the compact car champion.

Hamm won $1,000 for his first-place overall finish, plus $100 for competing as a finalist.

Second-place finisher Scott Schultz joined Hamm as a state qualifier. The Championship Demolition Derby Association state race will run in October.

Schultz won $700 plus the $100 for competing as a finalist.This year is the first season for the The CDDA competition.

Rounding out the full-size prize winners were Jason Hamm (third), Jonah Gehring (fourth)?and Weston Mizell (fifth). Hamm took home $400. Gehring won $250, and Mizell earned $150.

Each was also awarded an additional $100 for competing as finalists.

Lonnie Hamm won the Mad Dod Award for driving the most aggressively, and Best Paint went to Scott Schultz.

Brian McClellan placed second in the compact demo. Lloyd Anderson was third.

As the compact car first-place finisher, Alcorn won $350. McClellan took home $250, and Anderson won $150.

Lloyd Anderson finished second in the Figure 8 race, followed by Dale Dalke (3rd) and Stan Neufeld (4th).
