Jason Hamm claims demo derby title

MCFDemoDerbyJasonHamm Hillsboro?s Jason Hamm is the Marion County Fair full-size automobile demolition derby champion, claiming his title Saturday night before another large crowd at the fairgrounds arena in Hillsboro.

Austin Jost won the compact car division while Dean Suderman was a repeat champion in the Figure 8 race.

Hamm won $1,000 for his first-place overall finish, plus $100 for competing as a finalist.

Finishing second in the final heat for the second year was Scott Schultz ($700), followed by last year?s champion Jesse Hamm ($400), Austin Jost ($250) and Thayne Meier ($100).

Each also was awarded an additional $100 for competing as finalists.

In the compact-car division, Jost was followed by Lloyd Anderson, Randy Claassen and Bill Foley. Jost won $350, McClellan $250 and Anderson $150.

Dale Dalke finished second in the Figure 8 race, followed by Paul Raugust and Tom Anderson.
