Fran Hudson of Emporia won the ?medalist? title via a two-hole playoff at the end of the Hillsboro Women?s Senior Golf Tournament. Hudson shot a 90 and won in the 60-64 flight, edging Linda Davis (93) and Toni Bowling (98). Hillsboro?s Pat Bartel (90) and Marion?s Lois Smith (96) placed first and second in the 50-59 flight, with Julie Kincaid (105) placing third.
Elaine Sears (90) and Clair Calhoun (105) placed 1-2 in the 65-69 flight, as did Shirley Meysenburg (90) and Lucille Keller (96) in the 70-plus flight.
Sears and Meysenburg were eliminated with bogeys on the first playoff hole and Hudson?s bogey on the second hole was good enough to secure the win.
