Dick earns berth in Class 3A golf tourney

Hillsboro?s Devin Dick earned a fourth-place medal and a state tournament berth Mon?day with a score of 90 at the Clas 3A regional tournament in Marion.

Hillsboro?s golf team took seventh overall with a score of 414. Only the top four teams advance.

Evan Ollenburger shot a 103, Andrew Meier 109, Kyler Borg 112, Daniel Kenney 124 and Casie Allen 143.

The state tournament will be Monday at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.

CKL tourney?The Trojans placed fifth among seven schools competing in the first Central Kansas League tournament May 10 at Sterling.

Hesston won the title with a score of 310, defeating reunner-up Sterling at 323. Following those two schools were Halstead at 352, Kingman at 368, Hillsboro at 387, Nickerson at 414 and Pratt at 421.

Devin Dick and Andrew Meier tied for the best score for Hillsboro, each carding a 95. Evan Ollenburger shot a 97, Kyler Borg 100, Daniel Kenney 109 and Casie Allen 139.
