Letter-winners for the Centre High School football team are: front row (from left), Zach Antoszyk, Rustyn Krebs, Casey Kristek; back row, Jacob Jennings, Tanner Brunner, Trevor Troutt, Brian Burhoop.

With four impact seniors returning and after a strong off-season in the weight room, the Centre High School eight-man football team is prepared for another season under coach Kelly Steiner.

Steiner highlighted the efforts seniors Trevor Troutt, Jacob Jennings, Zach Antoszyk and Stephan Kaiser have made to build on their experience.

Troutt (6-foot, 3-inches, 220 pounds) will be play at least part-time at defensive tackle. Jennings (5-11, 190) and Kaiser (5-11, 220) will contribute to line. Returning center Casey Kristek brings a year of experience to that position.

Antoszyk ?has good quickness and a nose for the ball,? Steiner said.

At quarterback, Centre will turn to Tanner Brunner and Justin Deines. Brunner ?lifted hard this summer and is starting to fill out,? Steiner said. ?Tanner will also be playing linebacker on defense.?

Rustyn Kerbs may play at halfback.

?Overall, I?m pretty pleased with how summer weights went,? Steiner said. ?We had some guys really hit the weights hard this summer and are starting to fill out, which will help.

?Practices have been going well, the guys? attitudes have been great,? he added. ?We are just working on the fundamental things and want to get better every day. We want to be playing our best football when district play starts.

Centre?s season begins Friday with a potentially difficult matchup against Goessel.
