Canton-Galva sweeps Peabody

The Canton-Galva 13- to 15-year-old Babe Ruth team swept Peabody Monday night at home, winning both games with 11-0 scores.

In Game 1, Nick Bray was 2-for-2 at the plate with five runs batted in. Ryan Grant and Ethan Loyd also went 2-for-2.

Tanner Klingensmith, the winning pitcher, gave up two hits and no runs while walking two and striking out two.

Game 2 was aided by an eight-run first inning. Grant led the team with 2-for-3 hitting, including a double, and had three RBIs.

Bray was winning pitcher. He gave up two hits and no runs while walking one hitter and striking out four.

?The offense was well-balanced, and the pitching was very good with only four walks and no runs in two games,? coach Kelly Nelson said.
