Bowling tournament scores 14 teams of 5

The Trailettes women?s bowling league of Hillsboro hosted their fourth annual Turkey Tournament November 7 and 8 at Trail Lanes Bowling Center. The nine-pin no-tap event was open to the public and had local men and women participants as well as from Oklahoma and Colorado. Fourteen five-member teams were entered in the event, making it the largest so far.

There were 25-200 games rolled, the highest a 253 rolled by Marie Kessler. Kessler also took the high series honors with a 720. There were 19-500 series rolled, the highest a 590 rolled by Barb Hein.

First place was earned for the second consecutive year by team ?Bob and the Giblets,? consisting of Bob Woelk, Kathy Woelk, Barb Hein, Susan Janzen and Karen Benda. Second place was won by ?Birds of a Feather,? captained by Marie Kessler, maintaining their standing from last year. Third place went to the Gabby Gobblers, captained by Penni Funk.
