Canton-Galva?The Eagles earned second- and third-place finishes at the Bluebird Classic last week.

Canton-Galva opened the tournament Monday with a sweep of Burrton.

The girls defeated Burrton, 57-29. Cassidy Enns led all scorers with 23 points.

The boys also defeated the Chargers, 60-42. Zach Snow led all scorers with 22 points. Travis Unruh added 10.

Canton-Galva then split a pair of games with Central Christian Tuesday.

The girls won, 56-31. Enns led all scorers with 31 points. Zoe Unruh added 10. The win put them in Saturday?s championship game.

The boys lost, 50-41. Unruh led the Eagles with 17 points.

The tournament concluded Saturday.

The girls finished second with a 59-31 loss to Goessel in the championship. Cassidy Enns led all scorers with 15 points.

The boys claimed third by defeating Elyria Chris?tian, 48-41. Zach Snow led all scorers with 24 points. Travis Unruh added 19.

The Eagles were scheduled to play at Centre Tuesday. Canton-Galva will host Burrton Friday.

Centre?The Cougars participated in the Herington tournament last week.

The Cougars began with a split against Herington Tuesday.

The girls lost, 41-35. Shelby Pankratz led Centre in scoring with 13 points.

The boys won, 45-31. Cole Srajer led the Cougars with 14 points.

The girls lost to Southeast of Saline Friday, 44-23. Emily Schlesener led the Cougars with six points.

The tournament concluded Saturday. The girls lost to Madison, 44-37. Shelby Pankratz led the effort with 10 points.

Goessel?The Bluebirds earned a first- and second-place finish in their home tournament last week.

Goessel opened the tournament by sweeping Elyria Christian Tuesday.

The girls won, 40-22. Goessel shot 30 percent from the field (16-54). Page Hiebert scored a game-high 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Aleena Cook scored 11 points.

The boys won, 49-30. Goessel shot 40 percent from the field (17-43). Zach Wiens led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Chase Flaming added 12.

Goessel then swept Little River Friday. The girls won, 52-23. Page Hiebert led all scorers with 19 points. Aleena Cook added 17.

The boys won, 42-33. Zach Wiens led all scorers with 15 points.

The Bluebirds concluded the tournament Saturday.

The girls won the championship with a 59-31 victory over Canton-Galva. Eden Hiebert and Alicen Meysing led the Bluebirds? scoring efforts with 12 points each. Page Hiebert added 11, and Aleena Cook 10.

The boys finished in second place with a 46-35 loss to Central Christian in the finals. Zach Wiens led Goessel?s scoring effort with 17 points.

The Bluebirds will host Rural Vista Friday.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors participated in the Marion Classic last week.

Peabody-Burns opened the tournament against Eureka Thursday.

The girls lost, 40-25. Katy Benson had a double-double performance with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The boys lost, 72-17. Austin Reynolds led the Warriors with five points.

Peabody-Burns then faced Berean Academy Friday.

The girls lost, 44-4. Cheyene Shaw and Katy Benson each scored two points.

The boys lost, 55-27. Cody Partridge led the Warriors with nine points. Austin Reynolds grabbed 10 rebounds to go with his six points.

The tournament concluded Saturday. The girls finished sixth with a 37-33 loss to Belle Plaine. Benson had her second double-double performance of the tournament with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The boys lost to Marion, 53-30. Austin Reynolds led the team with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Warriors were scheduled to host Burrton Tuesday and will face a rematch with Berean Academy on the road Friday.
