Centre?The Cougars (13-8) lost to Pretty Prairie (19-1) in the final round of Class 1A Division I sub-state tournament Saturday, 72-41. Pretty Prairie will advance to state competition.
Brian Burhoop scored 19 points for the Cougars.
Centre edged out Little River (13-9), 49-47, in the second round Friday, after earning a bye in the first round, March 1.
Rustyn Kerbs led Centre with four points. Teammates Adam Matz, Burhoop, and Kordell Harding each contributed three points.
Canton-Galva?The Eagles (6-15) lost to Moundridge (17-6), 64-32, in the first round of Class 2A sub-state play, Feb. 28. Mound?ridge finished as the tournament runner-up.
Goessel?The Bluebirds (11-11) lost in overtime to Pretty Prairie (19-1) in the second round of Class 1A Division I sub-state competition Friday, 67-58.
The Bluebirds defeated Burrton (5-16) in the first round of sub-state play, 52-43, March 1, to advance to the second round.
Peabody Burns?The Warriors (5-16) lost to Berean (21-1), 53-15, in the first round of Class 2A sub-state competition.
Berean went on to win the tournament and advance to state to defend last year?s title.
