Centre?A strong second half carried White City past the Cougars, 44-38. Centre led, 17-14, at intermission. Brunner led CHS with 13 points. Centre will play its next two games at home, taking on Little River Tuesday and Hope Friday.

Canton-Galva?An Eagle rally closed a 16-point deficit to six with 3:27 to play against Trinity, but the Hutchinson school regrouped for a 51-31 victory. Taylor Myers led Canton-Galva with 16 points while Derek Racette poured in 29 for Trinity. The Eagles (1-2 HOA, 3-5) are scheduled to play at Benning?ton Tues?day and at Ell-Saline Friday.

Goessel?The Bluebirds got off to a 14-5 start in the first quarter and hung on to claim a 43-38 win at Solomon. Seven Bluebirds scored, four with at least seven: Davis Cook led with nine, John Berkholz eight, Corey Buller and Braden Unruh seven. The next games for Goessel (2-1 WSL, 4-4) are at Flinthills Tues?day and Elyria Christian Friday.

Peabody-Burns?The War?riors (0-2 WSL, 2-6) lost to league leader Hope (2-0, 7-1), 56-45. PBHS will play at White City Tuesday, then will host Wake?field Friday.

Tuesday, Jan. 4

Centre at Peabody?A 34-14 second-half surge carried Cen?tre to a 51-37 win over Peabody-Burns last Tuesday at Peabody. PBHS led 23-17 at intermission. Centre had an advantage at the free-throw line, making 15 of 20 while Peabody-Burns made one of only two attempts. Centre had three players in double-figures: Brunner 14, Kerbs 10, Burhoop 10. Matthew Hiebert led the Warriors with 10.

Canton-Galva?Berean Academy jumped to a 20-8 lead after one quarter and expanded the margin in each succeeding period on the way to a 56-24 home-court win over Canton-Galva last Tuesday. Taylor Myers led CGHS with 14 points.

Goessel?The Bluebirds (3-4, 1-1) absorbed their first league loss of the season, 55-34, at Hope. The home team pulled away after posting a 32-25 halftime lead. T.J. Kickschaefer poured in 28 points for Hope. Nicholas Buller led Goessel with 11 points and Davis Cook contributed a game-high seven assists.
