American Family averaged 35 runs per game en route to the Marion County Slow Pitch Softball League Tournament this weekend in Tampa. The team won the double-elimination tournament in the minimum four games, defeating Peabody 38-36 in the championship contest Sunday. Also competing in the tournament were teams representing Tampa State Bank, Burdick, Harshman Construction, Lincolnville, Peabody Coyotes, Herington, Robinson Trucking and Tabor. During the regular season, each team plays nine doubleheaders on Sunday evenings, followed by the annual tournament.
