Participants in the fourth annual Hillsboro Frostbite Four Mile on New Year?s Day take off at the start of their in-town race route. Temperatures in the 40s prevented the event from living up to its name, but none of the 31 runners and walkers were heard complaining. The top male runner was Sean Leihy, who finished the course in 25 minutes, 21 seconds; the top female runner was Tam Perry, who crossed the finish line in 31:19. Both runners are from Hillsboro. The event was sponsored by the Hillsboro Recreation Commission.
