5k run and youth triathlon set for Aug. 16 in Hillsboro

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission is sponsoring the Triple Digit 5K Run and Youth Triple Threat on Aug. 16.

The day will begin with participants in the Triple Digit Run checking in from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. at the Hillsboro Museums Visitors Center located in Memorial Park, off the corner of D and Birch streets.

The run starts at 7:30 a.m. and winds through the streets of Hillsboro. The entry fee is $20 before Aug. 8, and $25 after that date.

The Youth Triple Threat will start at 8:30 a.m. The triathlon is limited to the first 50 participants between ages 7 and 15. Each participant will swim 100 meters, bike four miles and run one mile Check in will be at the Hills?boro Family Aquatic Center starting at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee is $20 to the first 50 participants; there will be no waiting list.
