Tabor College women?s tennis athlete Jessica Emoto has received NAIA honorable mention recognition for her performance this season.

?Jessica is a fierce competitor who most opposing coaches refer to as ?The Wall,?? coach John Ruder said. ?She gets everything back, but is also aggressive and can hit winners once she has pushed her opponent out of position.

?Jessica is very coachable, and she is constantly working to improve her game, both technically and tactically.?

A freshman from Gresham, Ore., Emoto was KCAC Freshman of the Year and was recognized as a unanimous selection to the All-KCAC first team.

Emoto went 15-3 in singles this season, serving as Tabor?s No. 1 singles player. She also received national recognition as the ITA Central Rookie of the Year.

?Jessica epitomizes everything that Tabor College and Tabor College athletics stand for,??Ruder said. ?As good as Jessica is on the tennis court, she is an even better person.

?I am truly privileged and blessed to have her on my team, and I look forward to three more great years.?
