Track Trio ‘represented Tabor very well’

Kelli Kopper, Breanna Wray and Justin Ball represented Tabor College at the NAIA indoor track and field championships held Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn.

Kelli Kopper set a personal record with a 1:38.18 run in the women?s 600 meters while Breanna Wray placed 17th in the weight throw, in which she set her mark at 48 feet, 11 inches. Wray also turned in a 40-plus distance in the shot put.

Justin Ball led the first half of the men?s 600, coach Dave Kroeker said, but ?just faded at the end. He ran well and this should be a great preparation for next year.?

Ball placed sixth in his preliminary, with a time of 1:24.92.

?All three athletes represented Tabor very well at nationals and competed very hard,? Kroeker said.

The Bluejays outdoor track and field season will begin Saturday at McPherson, and the squad will visit Bethel March 18.
