Three Tabor College Bluejays were named to the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason men?s and women?s basketball teams last week.
The men are represented by senior Robbie Samuel, a 6-foot, 2-inch guard from Dallas, Texas. Samuel was a third-team selection last season.
Two Tabor women were unanimous picks. Senior Janelle Rust, a 5-11 forward from Elbing, was named to the team, having earned Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors last season.
Rust was a first-team post-season All-KCAC selection last year despite suffering a knee injury in early February. In 24 of 30 games played, Rust led the KCAC in scoring, field goal percentage and three-point shooting.
Senior Nikki Lewis, a 5-0 guard from Tahlequah, Okla., was also named to the preseason team. A first-team selection last year, Lewis led the KCAC in assists with 163, which ranked her sixth in the NAIA.
