TC women defeat Concordia

The Tabor College women?s tennis team picked up its first win of the season March 1 to improve to 1-2 for the season.

Concordia?The Bluejays gained a 6-3 victory March 1.

Tabor took four of six singles matches: No. 1 Becky Faber defeated Katelyn Koll 8-5; No. 4 Krista Schmidt beat Laura Suttler 8-0; No. 5 Kiana Fujioka defeated Chris?tine Ruskamp 8-1; and Celeste Worthy won by default.

Also in singles, No. 2 Anna Friesen lost to Grace Mollenbeck 8-6, and No. 3 Karly Lindroth-Yates fell to Elyse Kohl 8-4.

In doubles, Faber and Fujioka lost 8-2; Friesen and Yvonne Nachtigal won 8-1; and Lindroth-Yates and Worthy won by default.

Doane?Tabor lost a 5-4 contest with Doane Feb. 28.

The Bluejays won two of six singles matches. Becky Fabor defeated Kendra Rifler 6-0, 6-3, and Celeste Worthy defeated Kayla Bamesborg 3-6, 6-2, 11-9.

Anna Friesen lost to Torey Kogel 7-5, 6-2; Karly Lindroth-Yates lost to Jade Patterson 6-1, 7-5; Krista Schmidt fell to Lani Brown, 6-0, 6-2; and Kiana Fujioka lost to Allison Pfeifer 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.

In doubles, Faber and Fujioka won 8-4; Friesen and Nachtigal won 8-2. Lindroth-Yates and Schmidt lost 8-4.

Newman?Tabor lost to Newman 9-0, Feb. 15.

In singles, Becky Faber lost to Taylor Jordon 6-3, 6-1; Anna Friesen lost to Kristie Symon 6-0, 6-1; Karly Lind?roth-Yates lost to Hillary Hicks 6-0, 6-0; Celeste Worthy lost to Carissa Villafor 6-0, 6-1; and Yvonne Nachtigal lost to Ale Hernan?dez 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles, Faber and Schmidt lost 8-1 while the teams of Friesen and Nachtigal and Lindroth-Yates and Worthy lost by 8-0 scores.

Coming?Tabor was scheduled to host Central Christian Tuesday and will host 11th-ranked Oklahoma Baptist March 26
