TC track travels to Oklahoma Baptist

When last week?s Emporia State Open was cancelled, the Tabor College track and field team competed at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational Friday and Saturday instead.

Amy Horner paved the way for the Bluejay women by placing third in the triple jump (35 feet, 101?2 inches) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (16.46 seconds).

Alyssa Windle finished fourth in the discus (125-10) and seventh in the shot put (39-3), while Aaliyah Carter was fifth in the 100 (12.47) and seventh in the 200 (25.7).

Additional top 10 finishes included Horner, Carter, Keeley Kroeker and Sarah Hagen, fifth in the 4×400 relay (4:21.66); Horner, Ashton Kroeker, Hagen and Carter, sixth in the 4×100 (49.99); Ashton Kroeker, sixth in the triple jump (33-10); and Kaylee Schmidt, eighth in the javelin (62-6).

Meanwhile, two Bluejays paved the way for the men?s team by earning second-place finishes:?Daniel Quiring in the hammer throw (137) and Austin Kurtz in the javelin (163-3).

Tabor claimed four of the top seven places in the men?s shot put: Johnny Loera was fourth (45-91?4), Robert Phillips fifth (45-53?4), Daniel Quiring sixth (44-43?4) and Jonathan Gibson seventh (44-11?2).

Josh Richert, Si Luc, Thomas Bacon and Tyler Parrish finished fourth in the 4×800 relay (8:27.58), while Loera was fourth in the hammer (122).

Additional top 10 finishes included Cole Younger, tied for seventh in the 100 (10.95); Matt Richert, eighth in the hammer (102); and Avery Franz, 10th in the long jump (20-61?4).

Coming?Tabor will compete at the Hutchinson Community College Night Relays Saturday.
