TC track competes at Friends

The Tabor College track and field team competed at the Friends Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Robert Phillips turned in the men?s highest performance by finishing second in the shot put (46-7). Three other Bluejays finished in the top 10 in that event: Jonathan Gibson third (46-13?4), Johnny Loera fourth (44-71?4), and Daniel Quiring eighth (41-101?4).

Austin Kurtz was third in the javelin (169-5), while Quiring finished fifth in the hammer (138-1?4).

Loera placed ninth in the hammer (123-61?4).

Matt Richert was 10th in the hammer (119-91?4), while Cole Younger was 10th in the 100 (10.8).

As a team, the men finished eighth of 16 with 30 points. Fort Hays State won with 200.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Windle paved the women with a fourth-place finish in the shot put (39-31?4).

Two Bluejays placed fifth:?Sarah Hagen in the 400 (1:02.38) and Jamiah Evans in the discus (111-11?4).

Aaliyah Carter was sixth in the 100 (12.26) and seventh in the 200 (26.12).

Amy Horner placed ninth in the 100 hurdles (17.04), while Julie Loewen was 10th in the 5,000 (20:14.28).

As a team, the women placed ninth of 19 with 18 points. Friends won with 2161?2.

Coming?Tabor will compete at the KT?Woodman Open at Wichita State Friday.
