TC swim teams compete at nationals

The Tabor College swim team competed at the NAIA national championship last week in Columbus, Georgia.

Women?Kelly Smith, Angela Smith, Tessa Downs, Aleya Hill turned in the highest finish, placing 18th in the 800 free relay with a time of 8:37.93.

Kelly Smith, Angela Smith, Downs and Hill were 20th in the 200 free relay preliminaries (1:46.49); 20th in the 400 medley relay prelims (4:30.63); and 22nd in the 200-yard medley relay prelims (2:02.84).

Hill was 33rd in the 200 free preliminaries in a school record 2:02.35.

Men?Tristan Ward, Brett Magee, Andrew Wehrman and Evan Bell were Tabor?s highest placers, finishing 12th in the 800 free relay in a school-record time of 7:27.40.

Magee, Ward, Wehrman and Bell finished 16th in the 400 free relay (school record 3:17.22), while Ward, Wehrman, Bell and Magee were 16th in the 200 yard free relay (1:31.01).

Wehrman, Ward, Bell and Magee were 16th in the 200 yard free preliminaries (1:31.58), and 17th in the 200 medley relay prelims (1:46.14).

Evan Bell was 35th in the 200 free prelims (1:52.19), while Tristan Ward was 39th in the 100 free prelims (school record 49.41).

Brett Magee finished 42nd in the 50-yard free prelims (school record 22.32).
