TC softball team remains undefeated

The Tabor College softball team swept both games of a doubleheader with York Saturday to remain undefeated on the season.

Tabor won Game 1, 9-1. York struck first with one run in the top of the second inning, but the Bluejays scored three runs in the bottom of the inning. From there, Tabor added two runs in the third inning and four in the fourth.

Sarah Massey was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Brittney Dymnioski was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Henning was 2-for-3, including a double, with one RBI, Lauren Massey was 2-for-2 with one RBI, and Araselly Vargas and Taylor each hit doubles and had one RBI.

Marilee Burge won from the mound. In five innings, she allowed three hits and one run (none earned) while walking one and striking out four.

The Bluejays won Game 2, 4-0. After four scoreless innings, Tabor managed one run in the fifth and three in the sixth to earn the win.

Katie Henning hit a home run and had three RBIs. Sarah Massey also managed a home run, and Megan Taylor doubled. Lauren Massey was winning pitcher. In five innings, she allowed one hit and no runs while walking no one and striking out two hitters.

Central Christian?Tabor won two games Tuesday. The Bluejays won Game 1, 6-4. Each team scored a run in the first inning, then Tabor added a second in the top of the fourth. Central Christian took the lead with a two-run fifth inning, but Tabor outscored Central Christian, 4-1, in the sixth inning.

Sarah Massey was 2-for-3, including a double, with three RBIs, Henning was 2-for-3, including two doubles, with one RBI and Yas Suesoff tripled and had two RBIs.

Jaycie Morris was winning pitcher. In seven innings, she allowed 10 hits and four runs (three earned)?while walking five hitters and striking out four.

Tabor won Game 2, 13-0. Dymnioski was 3-for-4, including a triple, with two RBIS, Henning was 2-for-3, including a home run, with three RBIs, Vargas was 2-for-2 with one RBI, Sarah Massey was 2-for-2, including a double, with one RBI and Lauren Brown was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Burge was winning pitcher, allowing two hits and no runs in four innings while walking two and striking out two.

Thursday?s doubleheader against Central Christian was postponed because of weather.

Coming?Tabor (6-0) was scheduled to play at Benedictine Tuesday and will travel to Avila Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. The Bluejays will compete at MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday at noon.
