TC men win 3rd conference game

The Tabor College men?s soccer team used three first-half goals to beat Southwestern College 5-2 Oct. 15, and at the time Tabor trailed first place Kansas Wesleyan by only half a game.

But Ottawa defeated the Bluejays 2-1 on Saturday to drop Tabor into third place in the conference. Trailing 1-0 in the first half, the Bluejays scored goals two minutes apart, with senior forward Ben Ruzinsky netting the first. Freshman midfielders Liam Mclean and Robert Masson combined on the second, with Masson putting away the first of his two goals in the match.

?The men overcame sloppy conditions to get a solid victory,? coach Grant Brubacher said. ?The guys really stepped it up in the second half and put away a couple of goals to seal the win.?

Masson added an assist on a goal by Silas Hibbs, and Hibbs assisted on Dallas Pruitt?s score. Cameron Beckman recorded the first assist of his Tabor career.

Against Ottawa, Andy Adrian scored Tabor?s only goal.
