TC men 4-2 with Central win

The Tabor College men?s basketball improved to 4-2 on the season with a 88-80 win over Central Christian College last Tuesday in McPher?son.

Tabor outscored the Tigers 41-36 in the first half and 47-44 in the second.

Shooting 62.5 percent from the field in the second half, Tabor?s Damon Dechant was locked into a scoring contest with the Tigers? Randall Conley.

Dechant converted on 11 of 15 field goals for 29 points and six rebounds. The all-conference senior was perfect from the charity stripe, finishing 7-for-7.

The Bluejays had a hard time defending Conley. Shooting 10-for-15 from the field and 8-of-11 from behind the arc, Conley finished with a game-high 31 points.

Tabor outshot the Tigers 51 to 46 percent and outrebounded them 38-28. Both teams shot 50 percent from behind the arc.

Tabor had four players in double figures. Cody Arnold shot 5-for-9 from the field for 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Max Frise went 4-for-7 from the floor for 11 points. Phillip Jimenez scored 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting.

The Tigers also had contributions from Kaelon Gary (14) and Don Gavin (9).

Coming?Tabor played Haskell Indian Nations Monday night in Lawrence and opens KCAC play Thursday, hosting the University of St. Mary.

Saturday is ?church spirit night? when Tabor hosts Sterling College.
