TC indoor track team opens season at KU

The Tabor indoor track and field team kicked off the season at the Kansas Bill Easton Classic at Anschutz Fieldhouse on the University of Kansas campus.

?I was pleased with the effort and competitiveness of both the men?s and the women?s teams as a whole,? coach Dave Kroeker said. ?This gives us a good start to track season and lets everyone see that we have a ways to go yet to get to where we want to be in May at the conference meet.?

The Bluejays earned four top-five performances.

Nathan Vogel placed third in the 600-yard run with a time of 1 minute, 14.94 seconds, just one second off of the national qualifying standard.

Brielle Lund placed second in the 1,000-meter run (3:15.48). Kelly Gomez placed second in the 800-meter run (2:58.21). The men?s distance medley consisting of Garrett Daugherty, Vogel, Phillip Magos and Joel Allen finished second (11:05.60).
