TC falls in double OT

In its only appearance of the week, the Tabor College men’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 double overtime loss to Texas College Tuesday.

The Steers scored in the 11th minute of play and held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

However, Tabor evened the score when Bransyn Felty kicked in a goal assisted by Jose Rodriguez in the 47th minute of action.

The score remained tied through the end of the period to force overtime. Neither team scored in the first overtime period. Tabor missed a shot and a penalty kick in the period. In the second overtime period, Texas College scored on a penalty kick in the 105th minute to end the game.

Tabor outshot Texas, 18-14, but the Steers held a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Derrick Eszlinger had five saves.

Coming—Tabor (2-3) will host Midland tonight at 7 p.m. to conclude non-conference play.
