The Tabor baseball team earned a three-game sweep in their home opener against Morningside College this weekend to improve to 7-3 for the season.

The Bluejays started the weekend with a 7-6 win Friday afternoon. After four scoreless innings?Tabor scored all seven runs in innings four, five and six.

Matt Weger led the Bluejays? offensive effort with three RBIs and a home run. Art Corona added two RBIs and Koby Temple and Wes Moody each chipped in one RBI.

David Ormiston pitched 5.2 innings, allowing seven hits and six runs, while striking out four.?Matt Lambert pitched 3.1 innings for Tabor, allowing three hit and no runs while striking out two.

Tabor went 2-0 Saturday against Morningside College.

The Bluejays won Game 1, 8-7, thanks in large part to a five-runs first inning. The Bluejays added three runs in the following two innings, but went scoreless the rest of the game.

Andrew Perez and Adam McCormick drove in two runs a piece a piece. Matt Cardona, Bret Lentz and Colby Tessendord had one RBI.

Anthony Mendoza pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five hits, six runs and striking out six. William Wood pitched 1.1 innings, allowing three hits, one run, and striking out none. Nicholas Reif pitched one inning with no hits, no runs, and struck out one.

The Bluejays pulled away with a 12-3 victory in Game 2 Saturday,

Tabor held Morningside to seven scoreless innings while racking up runs at the plate.

Weger led Tabor with three RBIs and a home run. Temple and Jake Landers had two RBIs each, and Corona, Perez, Paul Sciacca and Spencer Putman each chipped in on RBI.

Ta bor starter Brian Kowal pitched five innings and allowed three hits and one run while striking out four. Jake Loven?dahl pitched two innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three.

Coming?The Bluejays were scheduled to play a double-header with Baker University Tuesday.
